Sample Activities:

 

·       A public relations firm has been hired to develop and produce a documentary alerting young adults to the need for fiscal responsibility when using credit cards. As an employee, you have been asked to develop a five-minute demo for the client.

 

·       Select one food item like apples.  Each student could research a different product.  Develop a chart using the computer.  Across the top have headers for the following:

    1) Name of food

    2) Size of package

    3) Number of servings

    4) Cost/unit.

 

    For rows, use:

    Fresh - list two varieties

    Canned - list brand name and store name

    Frozen

    Dried

    Used in convenience food (ready to serve)

 

      Go to at least three stores for the information.  Use a separate chart for each store.  Share the information with classmates.  What is the most expensive What is the least expensive?  How could final use influence what you purchase?  Explain your answers.
