Sample Activities:

 

·       A public relations firm has been hired to develop and produce a documentary alerting young adults to the need for fiscal responsibility when using credit cards. As an employee, you have been asked to develop a five-minute demo for the client

 

·       An individual wants to select a career pathway….in an area of interest for future employment and postsecondary and lifelong learning.

 

·       Although New Jersey is well known as the Garden State, it certainly could be recognized as the Invention State. We now live in an increasing complex "global society" with demands for increased invention, design, and manufacturing to make people's lives and work more productive while meeting personal and family needs

 

·       Accessible Public Transportation

 

·       I’ve Got a Problem-Conflict in the Workplace

 

·       Using the Internet and local resources, student will research, develop and present a multimedia presentation that will demonstrate the importance of public transportation to the workforce as well as its impact on the environment. They will research and include data on the use of public transportation by the workforce in their area. They will gather information about the concerns of local commuters and make suggestions on ways to improve local transportation issues.

 

·       Students will make an instructional video on how to travel effectively using local public transportation. When planning a bus trip using public transportation, students will collect bus/train schedules; interview public transit employees, and plan a trip using the map. Student will demonstrate to ability to read a public transit timetable for travel purposes by defining one way and roundtrip, understanding start and end points and direction of travel, calculating fare schedules, schedule according to travel time, and understand the differences in weekday, weekend, and holiday schedule. They will plan a trip using bus schedule, prepare fare needed, and travel based on their trip plan.
