Cumulative Progress Indicator: 6 -  The student will produce and edit page layouts in different formats using desktop publishing and graphics software.

 

Grade: 12

 

Sample Activities:

 

·       A schoolwide unitiy day to celebrtate diversity is being planned by the school. As part of the celebration, a mini-Olympics will be held. A plan needs to be developed and implemented to include opening exercises, main events, and closing ceremonies. A small budget has been allocated but will need to be supplemented.

 

·        Mr./Ms. Z's company has decided to relocate the employee and the family overseas. The employment opportunities exist in Australia, Brazil, China, Kenya, and Switzerland. Your family must make the decision as to the country of preference with a backup alternative. Provide a justification to the human resource department. Be prepared to negotiate a contract that meets career, financial, and personal needs.

 

·       Current transportation systems consume natural resources and add to pollution and congestion.

 

·       Photographs and Paintings. Use graphic program to insert art work to create a presentation on works of art related to an arts class.

 

·       Students will use Microsoft Publisher or other publishing software to create a one page brochure to recruit potential employees. Brochure shall contain all important job qualifications and something about the company.
·       Student will insert photos of people doing the jobs listed.
·       Student will arrange layout in an organized fashion.
·       Student will use spell check to eliminate errors.

      ·       Have brochures reviewed by fellow students using a rubric for assessment.

 

·       Design a sale brochure that the company can use for selling a line of sports clothing.
