Cumulative Progress Indicator: 5 - The student will create documents with advanced text-formatting and graphics using word processing.

 

Grade: 8

 

Sample Activities:

 

·       Students should be using word text and other formats to create cover sheets, title pages, etc. for various project assignments. Students should include graphics as part of these documents also.

 

·       An individual wants to select a career pathway….in an area of interest for future employment and postsecondary and lifelong learning.

 

·       Current transportation systems consume natural resources and add to pollution and congestion.

 

·       Through research, students will develop a database of inventions by New Jersey native inventors. Students’ research will reflect an understanding of the contributions to science and technology. Students will demonstrate an understanding of the historical perspectives by describing the impact of major events and people in the history of science and technology, in conjunction with other world events during the time of the inventions or lives of the inventors.

 

·       Utilizing a database of inventions of New Jersey native inventors, students will produce an Invention State brochure with advanced text-formatting and graphics using word processing. Students working independently and/or collaboratively will produce one page of the brochure focused on one inventor or invention. Working cooperatively, students will collaborate and compile the pages to produce a large brochure/booklet.
