Sample Activities:

 

·       Earth is becoming uninhabitable.

 

·       Resources: http://www.uen.org/Lessonplan/LPview.cgi?core=1214

 

·       Current transportation systems consume natural resources and add to pollution and congestion.

 

·       Students will research on the Internet the impact of substance abuse on society. Using a spreadsheet program, such as Excel, students will analyze the extent of drug use in the United States over the last ten years. The results will be presented in a presentation format, such as PowerPoint, and include charts and graphs generated from Excel or similar program.

 

·       After having researched anti-drug campaigns from Spanish-speaking countries on the Internet, students will create an anti-drug poster using a digital painting program such as “Paint.” The poster will also utilize different command forms that are part of the grammatical portion of the world language curriculum.

 

·       Students use different input devices and compare ease on including information. The comparison might be done in a chart format. Other input devices to include based on availability/funds in the school follow: video camera, digital camera, scanner, microphone, bar code scanner, joy stick, touch screen, voice activated system, etc.
