Sample Activities:

·       This is something all students need to work on as they use word processing to produce various pieces of work. If students do not know how to keyboard, it is recommended students go to a site such as http://www.senselang.com/. Students can be assigned to complete various lessons on their own if necessary.

·       Provide a two-week cycle of daily touch keyboarding technique and application in a whole group setting. Individual students will track their own progress from the beginning of the cycle and thereafter at the end of each marking period. Techniques to emphasize include:
• Keep your eyes on your copy.
• Keep your feet flat on the floor.
• Sit up straight in your seat.
• Adjust your chair if necessary.
• Keep your fingers slightly curved.
• Keep your elbows in.
• Keep your hands off of the table or keyboard.
• Always return to home row after each keystroke.
• Maintain a steady rhythm as you keyboard.
• Align your body with the letter "J" on the keyboard.
• Keep your copy on the right if you are right-handed and vice versa.
• Make your work neat and attractive.

·       Students will become a community resource to physically challenged citizens in their community (i.e. typing letters for written communication)
