Cumulative Progress Indicator: 2 - The student will recognize, identify, and describe geometric relationships and properties as they exist in nature, art, and other real-world settings.

 

Grade: 5

 

Sample Activities:

 

·        Students investigate wallpaper, fabric, and gift wrap designs. They create a template for a unit figure which they will use to create individual border designs for their classroom. Each student presents her/his design to the class, describing the transformations used to create the design.

 

Kidspiration Activity:

 

·        Use symbols and links to create diagrams describing geometric relationships.
