Cumulative Progress Indicator: 1 - The student will demonstrate active listening behaviors in a variety of situations (e.g., one-on-one, small group).

Grade: 8

Sample Activities:

·        Students write open-ended stories. They take turns reading these aloud to the class. Students offer suitable story endings, indicating they have listened well.

·        After a unit of study on the Holocaust, students participate as the audience for a question-and- answer session with an expert panel consisting of a rabbi, a concentration camp survivor or descendant, and the department chairperson of the local high school social studies department.
