Cumulative Progress Indicator: 1 -   The student will engage in a variety of sustained, vigorous physical activities that enhance each component of fitness.

Sample Activities:

 

·        FIT DELAY - Students need to understand and apply appropriate exercise sequences when considering a workout plan. This teacher-directed activity leads students through seven parts of a workout. Students are always one step behind the teacher. The teacher begins with a warm-up but students do not start it until the teacher moves to flexibility. After completing the entire sequence, students defend the sequence of activities.
-        Warm-up
-        Flexibility
-        Muscle strength and endurance
-        Cardiorespiratory endurance
-        Cool down
-        Restretch
-        Hydrate (drink water)


Variation: Small groups develop an example of one phase and, in order, lead the class through the appropriate phase.
