Cumulative Progress Indicator: 3 -  The student will interpret a script to develop a production concept.

 

Grade: 12

 

Sample Activities:

 

Production Concept - Develop and design a production concept through interpretation of a specific script.
·        Give students a script.

      ·        In teams of five or six, students create a production concept.
·        Each group will design and publish their own organizational chart and program, outlining their roles within the group: director, scenic design, costumer,
make-up, etc.
·        Determine design concepts in light, color, pigment, scenic construction, costumes, and make¬ up which support the overall production concept.
·        Groups present their project to the class.

 

Essential Question:
·        How does the interpretation of a work affect each of the aspects of the production?
·        What kind of problems can result from a lack of collaboration?

 

Reflective Practice:
·        Critique the presentations in terms of the effectiveness of the concept upon the production.
