Sample Activities:

 

Stage Directions - Become aware of basic stage directions and locations.
·        Using the stage, define concepts of basic stage directions (stage left, stage right, upstage, downstage) and locations (apron, wings, backstage, offstage)
·        In response to verbal commands, students move to various parts of the stage and identify locations.
·        Distribute a diagram of the stage. Label the parts of the stage.

      ·        Speculate how to incorporate this vocabulary into performance.

 

Essential Questions:
·        What are the basic stage directions and locations?
·        How can you put theses essential terms into practice?

 

Reflective Practice:
·        What do you think a playwright should use in their stage directions?
