Special Education - Legal Mandates
There are a number of federal and state legal-mandates that have governed special education programs and services over the years where federal and state regulators have focused on compliance with these mandates. Since IDEA 2004, there has been a much greater emphasis on improving educational results and functional outcomes for all children with disabilities. These dual roles are captured in New Jersey's special education self assessment.
