Grade Level Academic Expectations and Resources

Core Curriculum Content Standards (CCCS) - Each district's curriculum (e.g., text books, assessments, etc.) is expected to be fully aligned with the CCCS. To ensure that students are learning these standards, the state identified cumulative progress indicators (CPI) for students to achieve in the various standards and in various grades. The NTU rephrased and placed these CPIs into a checklist format, so stakeholder could utilize them to identify student's academic strengths and weaknesses. In addition, many of these CPIs are hyperlinked with framework activities developed by the state and Inspiration Software's graphic organizers.

In the hyperlinked sections below, we identified each grade's academic standards (CPIs), state and district assessments and textbooks utilized by the Newark Public Schools:

Stakeholders can also utilize the hyperlinked research-supported strategies to increase each student's access to the general education curriculum.
