Music Critique - Have students select a piece of recorded music of their choice and will discuss why they liked or disliked the piece.
·        Students will write a critique of the piece to support their position based on parameters established by the teacher and students - identify the style, evaluate the lyrics (if any), identify the instruments used, discuss the use of the elements (harmony, melody, rhythm, dynamics, form, tempo, etc.)
·        The piece will be played for the class followed by the presenter's critique.

      ·        The presenter will discuss how the elements were utilized to form his/her opinion of the piece.
·        After the presentation, the class will be asked to respond to the presenter's critique and to offer their own critique based on the established parameters.

Essential Questions:
·        How can a student's like or dislike of a piece of music be affected by the elements of music?
·        Which elements were more prominent than others?

Reflective Practice:
·        Out of all of the pieces presented, which one did you like the best and why?
