Sample Activities:
Music Concepts - Using familiar songs ("Twinkle,
Twinkle, Little Star"), students will identify the following concepts:

Melody - show melodic direction using hand movements.

Rhythm - select rhythmic pattern of song from a series of written rhythmic
patterns.

Form - identify contrasting sections and create a different movement for each
contrasting section.
·
Dynamics - assign different dynamics to each contrasting section and select
different movements for each dynamic change.
·
Timbre - choose rhythm instruments that reflect the feeling of the lyrics
(lightness, twinkling).
